Review: Mortom

Mortom
Mortom by Erik Therme
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

I bought this book today to read on my brand new Kindle. (Happy birthday to me, and thanks Mom!)

It’s a fun read. I enjoy mystery/thriller, and this falls on the mystery side of that coin.

What works for me in this book is writing style. The writing is engaging and draws you in.

What didn’t work for me in this book was character development. Characters are fairly one dimensional and not one of the characters are likable.

Early in the book there is a touch of head hopping between POV of the two main characters, which jarred me at a couple of moments, leaving me unsure of who’s head I was in for a second. Soon into the book, this issue is resolved and it didn’t catch me off guard again.

I would certainly recommend it as a fun read to sit with a cup of tea on a rainy Saturday afternoon.

What I am most looking forward to is more from this author after they get a few more books under their belt. I’m expecting very good things from Mr. Therme in the future. I’m looking forward to it.
