It’s all over and the results are in. Kindle Scout has not selected my action/adventure romance for publication. I had hopes, but I am not shocked that it wasn’t selected.
It’s a good book, but I have worried that it isn’t romancy enough for a romance novel. It might be better described as an action/ adventure with romance. KS doesn’t have a section for action/adventure.
That’s all right, though. I didn’t want to try Kindle Scout with my favorite book first. I wanted to get a feel for the program and figure out how to run a campaign. I’m not the best at self promotion, and I will never be the best at it, but I did learn a few good tricks through the process.
My campaign did very well towards the end, after I had found my stride, but it was quite boggy through the middle. I ended up on the Hot and Trending list for 255 hours, but had only 980 page views. My external vs internal clicks were split a perfect 50/50.
I plan to self publish Descending soon, and hopefully the Kindle Scout process will generate some sales. They will send a notice out to all who nominated you once you publish it. Wish me luck!
In the end, no effort is ever wasted, it teaches you ways to move forward.
This is how I feel right now. But spring will come, and I will thaw, and I will start afresh.

Well, I voted for you and I hope that you will publish at some point because I would love to read the rest of it 🙂 I do a lot of reviews for authors and I admire anyone who writes books because it is a very hard thing to do. I used to think that I might become an author one day, but I know better now, I just don’t have the talent for it. All I can do is encourage those who do! And you are one of those, clearly.

I was wondering….you are already doing a heap of stuff to keep the momentum going on your writing career….but I am in a book club that I think you might like too. It is called THE Book Club on FB, and it’s an invitation only one. It has over 6000 reader members as well as over 900 author members. So, I was wondering if you would like to become a member? This club has become a home away from home for me, and I love being a member. It is UK based but it has members from all over the world. You can request that members beta read your books, you can ask that members review your books and once a month authors get to spruik their books to their hearts content, lol. It is a good way of getting more reach, and there are mad book lovers in the group, as well as a heap of bloggers (hopefully me too, this year).
